An individual day pass is required to visit La Cité de Pierres. It allows you to enjoy the site for a whole day and gives you access, at your convenience, to 6 different walks and signposted circuits, a guided tour on the miniature train (booking recommended), adventure games, as well as access to the playground / mini-accrobranche and the relaxation areas.
*For the via ferrata, an additional option is required.
The 6 walking trails through the Cité de Pierres in Aveyron
The walking trails in the Cité de Pierres are some of the most beautiful in Aveyron.
The interconnected paths, of differing difficulty ratings, thread their way through the rock formations and through the undergrowth, emerging onto panoramic outcrops, running along ridges or meandering through maze-like narrow passages.
They allow you to see different panoramic views, Giant Rock formations, rock shelters and sheepfolds.
Miniature train

- Tour with commentary in French by the driver.
- A video projection at the baume obscure (rock shelter) to discover the 7 keys to the city and a stop at the Citerne roundabout to see the Mycenae Gate, emblem of The City of Stones.
- Several departures daily: see departure times, booking recommended.
- A written translation of the train tour is available to download in 7 languages.
Adventure games
3 treasure hunts are available for all ages to play together:
- either with the means of the explorers of yesteryear for one,
- or with an application on your smartphone for the other,
- or with a little explorer’s notebook for children aged 6 and over.
Playground:
Mini ‘rocks and trees’ via ferrata
- Special playground for children (4 years or older) under the watchful eye of their parents.
- A large number of mini-via ferrata type activities (monkey bridge, suspended nets, footbridge, swing, tightrope with vines).
- It is located in the “salle des festins”, 5 minutes from the site entrance, access via the “salle des fêtes” picnic area.
Relaxation areas
- Several relaxation areas are located near the hiking trails – intimate spots where you can rest and recharge. La Cité de Pierres offers a unique setting to reconnect with fresh air, soft light, lush vegetation, ancient trees, and towering rocks, while embracing the silence and sounds of nature. Move freely and mindfully, at your own pace, far from the pressure of time.
